According to the company's data management passwords,
SplashData, there are many passwords leaked last year. Of the 3.3 million that
were analyzed, the majority are easily guessed passwords and insecure.
Most passwords are from North America and Western Europe.
The results were assessed as no surprise, "123456" and
"password" into two worst passwords in the past year.

as reported by Business Insider, Sunday (25/01/2015).

In order to keep your data safe, make sure not to use any of
the above password. SplashData recommends using a password of eight characters
or more in length, with various types of characters such as letters, numbers,
and symbols.
You are also advised to use a different username and
password for every website. In addition, security can be reinforced using a
password manager to protect passwords.
